Mozart, L'Opera Rock

Thursday night I took the RER train to the Tramway and on to the Palais des Sports to see this show. The music, dancing, costumes, and staging were fantastic. I loved when the actors (comediens & comediennes) came dancing into the audience but my favorite part was meeting them after the show. They are so gracious and friendly.

This is one of the huge billboards outside the theatre.

Waiting for the show to begin, this is the painted stage curtain.

Although, not one of the main characters, the lovely Merwan Rim has a stage presence and a wonderful voice. He is one of my favorites.

After the show when we were waiting by the stage door and photographing some of the actors as they came out, I looked down the street and Merwan was talking to someone and about to walk away. Eli and I went up to him and he was surprised that we knew who he was. How humble. He had been fabulous in Le Roi Soleil and in addition to his voice, we loved the stylish leather coat he wore. When we told him that he just replied "Ah, yes, The coat.", so he must hear that often.
I will do this in two posts with more pictures.

We had a great evening - I hope you decide to go to see it again before you leave - I am already planning my next trip.

But I doubt it will compare with the thrill of finally meeting the lovely Merwan!

Annon: Eli, thanks.. I not only had a great time but I'm home tonight listening to Garou and Patrick Fiori. Thanks for the CDs.. Great music. I'm getting so spoiled.

Hi Karen...

I just found your blog while searching for Merwan Rim... He's sooo hot! I just saw "Mozart" for the 2nd time tonight and realized that he switched roles in tonight's show... I love that scene in the Austrian Bar.. but I think I preferred him in the role of Lorenzo b/c he was on the stage more!! I just bought a ticket to go see it again in Jan! God.. I could watch it over and over again.. Great show!!
Thanks for sharing... I'm just going to edit the photos I took tonight and put them up on my blog this week... Stop by if you have a chance..
Take care,
Leesa
