I love going to second-hand book shops but of course books are heavy in a suitcase. I used to go to the Marché du Livre at Parc Brassens in the 15th, it was a book flea market on week-ends, but I read that it closed in 2008, a shame because they did have some pretty cheap prices. You can find some good books at the bouquinistes along the Paris quais though and a few little shops here and there (a good one is near métro Temple – if it’s still there…).

Terrie it is in the same building as the Hotel du Louvre and faces the Comedie Francaise (sp?). Photos taken at night when it was closed.
Vagabonde, I know. I'm a book fiend and once found a 3 day book sale at a church in Copenhagen. It was so difficult to restrain myself. I visited the bouquinistes along the left bank many times when I was there in December and I'll be even closer when I go in October. I'm staying in the 6th district. I do find that the post office has those nice flat rate boxes. I usually buy a few and send things home that won't fit in my suitcase.
